Build a StrongPharmacy
TeamSuccess Will Follow
Sustainable performance grows when leaders create clarity, capability, connection and accountability and help teams practise how to use them together.
Your pharmacy does not need another generic training day. It needs a structured space where people can step out of daily pressure, understand what is getting in the way, have the conversations that matter and practise a better way of working, then receive support to make that improvement last.
What is the SHIFT Room
A facilitated working space for pharmacy teams to improve the human side of performance: how they communicate, collaborate and respond under pressure, so safer care, better teamwork and stronger business performance become easier to achieve.
The SHIFT Room is not built around giving teams more theory. It is built around creating the conditions for people to understand, practise and sustain a better way of working.
The SHIFT Room is built around your pharmacy.
It works with the situations, pressures and working relationships your team genuinely faces every day: an absent colleague, a growing queue, competing priorities, a difficult patient interaction, a complaint, a clinical query, or one of those days when everything seems to happen at once.
It is flexible too. The SHIFT Room can take place in your pharmacy, in a meeting room, off-site or online: wherever your team can step back from the day-to-day, speak openly and look properly at how they work together.
Your team does the work
They talk the most. Together, your team explores different perspectives, looks honestly at what actually happens and moves beyond assumptions. They identify what helps performance, what gets in the way and what needs to change when pressure rises.
By the end of the session, the team creates a practical agreement: a shared way of communicating, collaborating and responding when the pharmacy is under strain.
This is not a set of rules imposed on your team. It is an agreement created by your team, for the reality of your pharmacy.
My role
My role is to facilitate the process.
I watch, listen and ask the questions that help people see more clearly. I help the team identify patterns that can be difficult to notice when you are busy working within them: unspoken expectations, unclear ownership, communication gaps, recurring frustrations or ways of responding to pressure that no longer serve the team.
I bring practical pharmacy experience, behavioural analysis, emotional-intelligence expertise and a clear structure for productive conversation.
Your team already knows more about its day-to-day reality than any external adviser could. My role is to create the conditions in which people can speak honestly, understand one another’s experience and turn insight into practical action.
The result is stronger alignment, better teamwork and a more reliable foundation for safer care and stronger pharmacy performance.
What happensin the Room
HowSHIFTworks
SHIFT is a practical, facilitated process that helps pharmacy teams understand how they work under pressure and make meaningful changes that carry back into real shifts.

- Tap a letter to explore each step
See
We begin with a realistic challenge, scenario, dilemma, activity or live issue from your pharmacy.
This puts the work into the room. Rather than talking about teamwork in the abstract, people experience and notice their existing habits, assumptions and team dynamics as they happen.
Hear
Every voice counts, especially the quieter ones.
The team creates space for honest perspectives that can easily be missed during a busy shift:
- What was difficult to say?
- What did someone need but not ask for?
- What assumptions were made?
- Whose perspective was missing?
Hearing these experiences helps the team move beyond surface-level explanations and understand what work feels like from different positions.
Identify
The team explores why a pattern keeps happening.
Perhaps priorities are unclear. Maybe people have not developed the habit of asking for help. Perhaps someone is reluctant to speak up because they fear getting it wrong, being judged or creating conflict.
Through structured reflection and facilitated dialogue, the team notices what happens to communication, decisions, roles, confidence, connection and accountability when pressure rises.
Understanding the reasons behind behaviour does not remove accountability. It shows the team where to act.
Foster
The team practises better ways of working.
They rehearse the small but important behaviours that improve daily performance: speaking up, clarifying priorities, asking for help, giving feedback, handling tension and holding standards respectfully.
The team tries, reflects and tries again. They then agree how they will work when similar pressure arises in future.
This is their agreement, not a rule handed down to them.
Transform
Change only matters if it shows up in real work.
The team takes its learning and agreements back into day-to-day pharmacy practice. Follow-up sessions at 30 and 90 days help the team apply what it has learned, review what has helped or got in the way, strengthen its agreement and build routines that can be repeated.
Leaders receive support to reinforce the conditions their team needs to sustain progress.
The aim is not a one-off positive conversation. It is stronger communication, clearer ownership, more confident decision-making and better teamwork, creating a more reliable foundation for safer care and stronger pharmacy performance.
Choose astarting point
Begin where your team needs it most.
Reset & Connect
Choose this starting focus when your team feels disconnected, tired, tense, frustrated or caught in repeated problems.
The work helps people move beyond assumptions and blame, reconnect around shared purpose and expectations and establish the first practical changes needed to move forward.
- Shared understanding of current patterns
- Stronger connection and trust
- A safer, clearer language for difficult conversations
- Greater shared ownership
- Agreed priorities and practical next steps
Perform & Thrive
Build the human conditions and everyday capabilities for people, care and performance to thrive.
Choose this focus when your team needs to communicate, prioritise, support one another and perform more reliably under pressure.
The work helps people make the link between conditions, behaviour and outcomes visible, then helps people practise the responses that support care, service, standards and sustainable commercial performance.
- Clearer priorities and communication under pressure
- Earlier escalating and offering support
- More confident speaking up and respectful accountability
- A shared view of what good performance looks like in real work
- Practical routines that support people and outcomes
The SHIFT Room does not end when the first session ends.
Every partnership includes follow-up work shaped around what the team discovers and needs next. We review what transferred into real work, explore what pressure exposed, practise again where needed, strengthen leadership reinforcement and adapt the team’s agreements to make them usable.
What the SHIFT Roomis not
What the SHIFT
Roomis not
- A lecture on emotional intelligence
- A generic team-building activity
- A personality-label exercise
- Therapy or an HR investigation
- A one‑off workshop with no follow‑up
It is practical work on how people communicate, collaborate, lead and perform in the real conditions of pharmacy.
Howto begin
Confidential discovery conversation
We talk about what is happening now, what the team needs, what has already been tried and what meaningful progress would look like.
Team understanding phase
Depending on the situation, this may include a leader conversation, team pulse, stakeholder input or focused observation.
Tailored proposal
SHIFT recommends the right starting focus, delivery format, embedding rhythm and measures of progress.
The SHIFT Room Partnership begins
Your team enters a practical experience designed around its real work and stays supported as the new way of working is tested and strengthened.

Discovery Conversation
The SHIFT Room is a tailored partnership, not an off-the-shelf workshop.
Please share a little about your team, what is happening and the change you want to create. Maya reviews every enquiry personally and will contact you within two working days if a discovery conversation is the right next step.
Time to complete: around 4 minutes.
